Tarot - Ten of Swords (First Posted Nov. 24, 2010)

To attain the kingdom of knowing in the suit of swords – which is the “realm of air” and, by another name, the “world of thought” – is to be completely open and completely surrendered to your thoughts and to know how (and when) to use them to your best advantage – or, one might say, to know how (and when) to let them use you to their best advantage.

In a very real sense, the kingdom in the suit of swords is a place where thoughts rule supreme but only, you will see, after you have been reminded how to be familiar and adept with your capacity for thought.

From the moment you stepped into suit of swords (the realm of air; the world of thought) through the mighty Ace of Swords – the place where everything in this world is pure potential - you have slowly become more and more familiar with your thoughts and how to use and/or accommodate them.

Through the descent from the Ace to the Ten you were reminded of the key applications which relate to your thoughts, as follows: weighing your thoughts (Two of Swords), overriding your emotions with your thoughts (Three of Swords), allowing your thoughts (Four of Swords), gathering your thoughts (Five of Swords),  elevating your thoughts  (Six of Swords), planting your thoughts (Seven of Swords), encouraging your thoughts (Eight of Swords) and enlarging your thoughts (Nine of Swords).

Now that you have reached the kingdom it is time to meet the royal family – the Page, the Knight, the Queen, the King - who dwell here and who dwell, also, within you.

PLEASE NOTE:  This interpretation is based purely on the feelings I experience when I  focus on, and merge with, the images in the card combined with how I understand the Minor Arcana of the Rider-Waite deck dovetails with the Tree of Life in the Qabalah (as taught by Wald and Ruth Ann Amberstone, co-founders of The Tarot School in New York City, NY).
