Kindle, Personal Pros and Cons (First Posted May 1, 2011)

Pros (thus far):

- download reading material basically any where and at any time
- hands free reading at lunchtime while at work
- built in dictionary that's super easy to access
- adjustable font size
- easy to use organizing capabilities
- an interesting "conversation piece" at work
- portability
- Amazon readily lives up to their 1 year warranty (no questions asked)
- easier to physically handle than a book, especially a thick one
- has a "search" function to locate sought after passage(s) of text throughout the entire book

Cons (thus far):

- extremely limited ability to "share the love"
- requires protection from loss, breakage and theft
- similar to the above, no bathtub reading- requires recharging
- fosters dependency on "latest technology"
- can lead to a unwanted attention when 'kindling' out in public , e.g. on a downtown park bench
- screen is very susceptible to damage under pressure
- not easy to "flip back" through the "pages" to locate and reread a passage
