Poem (Illustrated) - The Four Queens

The Four Queens

Come sense the heat
Of my wand
Cries the mighty
Queen of Fire
You’ll never want
For wars to fight
Nor of me will you tire.
We’ll hunt large game
Beneath the sun
We’ll dance
In every shire
And it shall be
As I say, for I’m
The Queen of Fire.

Come drink a drop
From my cup
Sighs the silky
Queen of Water
You’ll hold my heart
And know my soul
Now and ever after.
We’ll dim the lights
And count the stars
And dream
Of sons and daughters
And it shall be
As I say, for I’m
The Queen of Water.

Come test the steel
Of my sword
Breathes the lofty
Queen of Air
We’ll play at games
And talk all night
Of subjects bright and rare.
We’ll read fine texts
From round the world
Our thoughts
Will race like hares
And it shall be
As I say, for I’m
The Queen of Air.

Come feast your eyes
On my coin
Bids the ample
Queen of Earth
We’ll drink our health
With sweet red wine
And fall about with mirth.
We’ll feast each day
On something grand
And be
Proud of our girth
And it shall be
As I say, for I’m
The Queen of Earth.
