Hippety Hop To The Barber Shop - (First Posted Sept. 15, 2010)

Hippety Hop

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall see
A mysterious tot with his hair in a knot
Perched on his mother’s knee.

Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall find
A gaggle of boys making a noise
That no one seems to mind.

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall eye
A coupla mates trimming up for their dates
And wearing polka dot ties.

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall spy
A group of stout men numbering ten
And sitting thigh to thigh.

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall view
A very old fella with scalp turning yella
His problem is mildew.

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall note
Razor sharp shears for cutting round ears
While combs in barbacide float.

 Hippety hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall spot
Mirrors and lights for getting thing right
And some things time has forgot.

Hippety Hop to the barbershop
To see what we shall mark
Hair on the floor, and on out the door
A boon for the nesting lark.
